The Elven Duke’s Plump Bride
Liora Montclair, a plump elf noblewoman mocked as her family's disgrace, is forced by royal leaf decree into marriage with Duke Alaric Ravenscroft, the feared Iron Duke of the North. At the altar he never once looks at her, and a whispering frost raven calls him away before the vow cuff touches her ear. What neither of them knows is that for three years they have shared the same dream: in a moonlit treehouse they love each other every night in their full elven glory, light-wings blazing, yet they never see each other's faces. Alaric blames the visions on a poisoned arrow; Liora blames the romance novels she reads at bedtime. While Liora wins over Ravenhold with sunny kindness and quiet competence, and her stepmother's poison secretly weighs her down, Alaric begins to recognize his wife in the woman of his dreams. He races the legendary Thousandth Night to name her before the Dreambond fades. -
